First Things First
-
Check your voter registration. New Mexico is a decent state, and does not purge voter rolls without due process … but all the same, please check. You can use that same site to update your registration or even register.
-
Make your plan to vote early and bring your friends. There are so many reasons to do so, and this year it’s especially important. See the County Clerk web page for Early Voting dates and locations.
-
Be connected to the communication network and have a plan for what sustained civic uprising looks like in response to federal bad behavior. Join us at our next meetings to be part of the concerned community.
Ongoing: Postcard Campaign
Indivisible Los Alamos has committed to sending 1700 postcards to select swing-state voters.
Sept 27 and Oct 4
There will be postcard writing parties on Sunday September 27 and Sunday October 4, both from noon to 1 PM at the Unitarian Church. Or, if you’re a write-from-home person, come to Office Hours to pick up a packet with instructions. If you’d like personal delivery of a packet, write to Christa with your address and a postcard count. All postcards must be returned by October 18.
Oct 6: I Voted Early Happy Hour
Indivisible Los Alamos will host an I Voted Early Happy Hour, on Tuesday October 6th, probably from 6 to 8 PM; more details coming soon - but plan on joining us to celebrate our early voting!
For reasons both practical and existential, this is a year to vote early. Voting early helps out our county clerks office, helps you stop getting political calls and mailers sooner, lets candidates spend their money and volunteer time more efficiently, and massive early voting will make it harder for the republican administration to muck with our elections. This year, make a plan to vote as soon as you can.
Oct 17: No Kings
October 17, save the date! No Kings rally followed by early voting for those who haven’t yet done so.
